The provincial government of Marinduque is temporarily suspending the entry to the island province of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) in the hope of controlling the surge of Covid-19 cases in the province.

In a joint resolution, the Regional Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases concurred with the request of Marinduque Gov. Presbitero Velasco for the temporary suspension in a letter sent to the RIATF on October 7, 2020.

The suspension of the entry of all LSIs and ROFs to the province started October 12 until October 26, 2020.

As of October 12, 2020, there are already 70 confirmed cases of COVID-19, forty-seven (47) of which are active cases. (#)
