QUEZON CITY, June 5 (PIA) — Puerto Princesa City government has asked the Mines and Geoscience Bureau (MGB) to help in determining the possible cause of landslide in Zone 3 Barangay Liwanag.
The Puerto Princesa City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) is conducting rapid damage assessment in the area.
CDRRMO reported at least five persons died in the landslide that occured Monday night.
An adult female was injured and under observation in the hospital.
The landslide affected 37 families that were evacuated at the West Central School.
CDRRMO provided 37 family food packs (consist of rice, canned goods, coffee and milk) and 37 non-food item sets (towels,hygine kits, flash lights, first aid kits, bath and laundry soaps, pails with covers and whistles).
Apart from the CDRRMO, the Bureau of Fire Protection Search and Rescue Unit, Night Patrol, Kilos Agad Action Center and Patrol 911 participated in the search and rescue operation in Barangay Liwanag. (LP/PPC-CDRRMO)
