Pagasa – DOST: TD turned LPA can still send rains

QUEZON CITY, April 17 (PIA)— Pagasa-DOST is monitoring the Low Pressure Area (LPA) that used to be the Tropical Depression Crising.

Although weakened, tPagasa-DOST said the LPA can still send light to moderate rains over Bicol, Visayas and Caraga.

Crising reduced into a LPA after it made landfall in the Samar provinces Saturday afternoon.

With these developments, Pagasa-DOST has lifted all storm signal warnings.

Romblon was one of the provinces that were placed under Tropical Cycline Warning Signal No. 1.

Pagasa-DOST estimated the location of LPA somewhere in the vicinity of Basey, Samar at Saturday night.

Earlier, Pagasa-DOST urged people vacationing in beaches that were placed under the TCWS No. 1 not to underestimate LPAs as its winds may raise the waves higher than usual and put anyone riding banana boats and other small crafts in danger. (LP)
