QUEZON CITY, Jan. 18 (PIA) — The Department of Health Mimaropa extended financial assistance to municipalities that were directly affected by Typhoon Nina.
Three million peso financial assistance were provided by DOH-Mimaropa to Calapan City and Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro. Marinduque’s Boac, Buenavista, Torrijos, Mogpog, Sta. Cruz and Gasan received Php 2 million each.
Likewise the provincial government of Marinduque received Php 3 million for the benefits of the calamity-stricken victims.
The regional office also medical supplies to affected towns and provinces.
“Other affected municipalities will also be provided with assistance, accordingly,” DOH-Mimaropa Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo assured.
“We are continuing our monitoring and assessment as to the extent of damage caused by the typhoon,” Director Janairo said.
The Department of Health has allocated P30 million for DOH-Mimaropa for the purchase of medicines and financial assistance to calamity declared areas in the region. (LP/DOH-Mimaropa)
