Mimaropa’s Children Month celebration reset in January

MANILA, Philippines, Jan 3 (PIA) — Mimaropa will celebrate its regional Children Month on the second week of this month after it was deferred due to the passage of Typhoon Marce in the region last November.

The venue was also moved from Sablayan to San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

The holding of children’s month celebration every November opens opportunities for promoting children’s rights and responsibilities and child protection laws as well as sharing of good practices among local governments.

This coming celebration will include a symposium that will tackle the Department of Education’s child protection policy, multiple intelligence and positive parenting.

Also added in the topics for discussion are updates on the various government program for children.

Because the celebration is for children, there will be activities like art workshops, Zumbata (zumba dancing for kids) and kiddie talent and family feud-type contests.

The various government offices and other private organizations under the RSCWC are likewise encouraged to put up booths to showcase their services. (LP/PIA4B)
