QUEZON CITY, December 20 (PIA) — There are 22 barangays across the region that were recently identified as drug unaffected, according to Police Regional Office (PRO) Mimaropa.
Following a validation process conducted by PRO Mimaropa to 1,459 barangays, 22 were found lacking of residents that are drug personalities or even included in illegal drug watch-list.
Apart from the absence of drug personalities, these areas have no presence of illegal drug plantations nor laboratories.
The validation, covering the resolutions and certifications issued by Sangguniang Barangay and Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC)as well as those from municipal and city police stations, was made in partnership with Armed Forces of the Phillipines, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and other organizations.
The drug unaffected barangays are located in Romblon (Barangay Talisay, Calatrava), Puerto Princesa City (Barangay Langogan) and Oriental Mindoro (Barangays Nag-iba 1, Biga, Navotas and Tawagan of Calapan City; Barangays Andres Ylagan, Nag-iba I and Nag-iba II of Naujan; Barangays Ma. Concepcion, Malugay and Villareal of Socorro; Barangays Lantuyang and Baras of Baco; Barangays Benli and Cabugao of Bulalacao; Barangays Batangan and Lisap of Bongabong; Barangay Villaflor, Puerto Galera; Barangay Caagutayan,San Teodoro; Barangay Tagumpay, Pola; and Barangay Panaytayan, Mansalay).
