CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, June 10 (PIA) – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Oriental Mindoro Provincial Office awarded on June 7 its first Silver Bagwis Awardee to Puregold Calapan City Branch.
The DTI Bagwis Program (formerly known as the DTI-Certified Establishment Program) gives due recognition to establishments that uphold the rights of consumers and practice responsible business where consumers get value for money. It also encourages businesses to adopt a self-policing mechanism designed to foster the highest level of business ethics and advocate for fair and honest market place.
The program aims for business establishments to create an environment where entrepreneurs uphold fair and honest business practices through voluntary self-regulation and for consumers to ensure that quality and safe goods, products, services at affordable prices are available at DTI- certified establishments. It covers the following: all retail establishments such as supermarkets, department/specialty stores, hardware stores, appliance centers and DTI accredited service and repair shops.
The award was given just more than a year after the said establishment was awarded the Bronze Bagwis in 2014. DTI Provincial Director Arnel E. Hutalla handed over the Silver Bagwis Seal to Puregold Price Club, Inc. Area Manager Percival B. dela Cruz at Puregold Calapan, Camilmil, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
The award has the following levels/categories: Bronze – Compliance of Fair Trade laws and Consumer Welfare Desk/or recognized Customer Service Counter; Silver – Achievement of Bronze requirements and Social Responsibility; and Gold – Achievement of Silver requirements and some elements aligned to ISO 9001.
