QUEZON CITY, April 25 – All is set for the holding of the May 9 national and local election in the 2,832 clustered precincts in 1,459 barangay in the region.
“Except for the testing and sealing, we are ready for the May 9 election,” Atty. Jerbee Anthony R. Cortez, Regional Election Officer said in his briefing during the recent Regional Joint Security Coordinating Center (RJSCC).
He said that they are now preparing for the testing and sealing of the Vote Counting Machine (VCM) which is scheduled nationwide on May 2-6.
The deployment of the VCMs began on April 15 with all machines now warehoused at all provincial and municipal hubs.
“Based on the Terms of Reference with 2GO, this courier must comply with the dates and delivery of the VCMs direct to all polling places for proper turn-over to the BEIs,” Atty. Cortez said.
2GO won the bid for the delivery of all the VCMs direct to the polling places.
As of November 16, 2015, there are 1,589,326 registered voters in the five provinces and two cities in Mimaropa region. (VSM/PIA-4B)
